Ruins of Temple of Artemis The Ruins of the Temple of Artemis [Partheni]

These ruins are rumoured to be the ruins of an Ancient temple devoted to Artemis (Diana) the Godess of hunting. Estimates date the ruins around the 7th century B.C. Head towards the airport and you should be able to see signs that will lead you to this site.

Ruins of Temple of Artemis
Ruins of Temple of Artemis There are two more sites that might be of interest to you. One is situated in close to agia Marina and is rumoured to be the ruins of a small Ancient amphitheatre. However this is in private land so at this moment I am not sure if it can be accessed by the public, I promise to find out more.

The other site was discovered in 2005 and at the time I was not allowed to take any photos, the site is in Lakki and the rumour is that there are Byzantine graves. Once again I can only apologise for the luck of further information but during my 2007 trip in June I will try to gather as much information as I can.
